My name is Bryce Brooks, I know this isn’t supposed to be boring but I don’t think i’m interesting enough to write 3 paragraphs without all the boring stuff. I’m studying computer science and am from St. Petersburg FL. With the more formal stuff out of the way i’m mostly in this class to fulfill an e-series credit but this is also the most interesting class that I found that does that credit. From what the syllabus tentatively says we will learn i’m most excited about raspberry pie, virtual reality, and 3d printing.

For my own personal interests outside of this class i’m very interested in computer vision and am just starting to look into it on my own time. I think it’s really cool and the possibilities with it are endless. One of the things that I would like to get working would have computer vision software working from a drone for no other reason then it would be cool. Currently though I have next to zero experience with computer vision and don’t own a drone so will see how this goes.

Things I like to do in my spare time are watch Netflix or you tube, go for a run, hang out with friends, and sometimes play video games. Favorite shows right now are Game of Thrones which my girlfriend and I just started (I know were a little behind), I keep the office on in the background when i’m just doing tedious tasks but mostly I watch movies (Marvel movies, good will hunting, no country for old men). My favorite You Tube channels are CGB Grey, LEMiNO, PolyMatter, Wendover Productions, and SmarterEveryDay. SmarterEveryDay also has a cool 3pt series on how large companies fight against bots on their platforms that you might find interesting. He interviews people who work at Twitter, You Tube, and Facebook and some third party person who studies misinformation on the web and whats going on.
